We are delighted to provide some information on the more popular floor types requested today. Natural stone is one of the most individual products available today having been crafted by nature over many millions of years. It can be used in most places around the home.
Granite. Granite is the most versatile and durable of all the natural stones. It is extremely popular for kitchen counters and is scratch resistant and less susceptible to staining making it a good choice in heavy traffic areas.
Marble. Marble has been valued for thousands of years for its colours and appearance. It is a great choice for almost any space in your home especially in the bathroom and fireplace areas. We do not recommend Marble for kitchen work tops as it is known to react to acidic items (like vinegar or tomatoes). Marble gives a traditional artistic look thanks to the ease of detailing and fabrication it provides.
Limestone. Limestone, with its muted tones lends itself for a more informal or casual look. It's popular in bathrooms, fireplaces, counters and low traffic flooring.
Travertine. Perhaps not the best known material but Travertine has stood the test of time well. It was used to build the Roman Coliseum more than 2000 years ago. It works well in exterior flooring and walls.
Slate. Slate is a unique stone and a very good choice for both exterior and interior flooring. It can easily be shaped to expose the textures services. It is slip resistant and has become a very popular choice in outdoor areas and patios.
